History

ALONSA, the electronics & home appliances brand under Al Tara Group, is one of the leading names in the highly competitive market of lifestyle products, home appliances and innovative entertainment devices.

ALONSA Electric Company Middle East Trading LLC was established in Dubai-UAE in 2004 under the Al Tara Group, which also launched a 65,000 square feet distribution center under ALONSA Gulf FZCO in 2005 in the world's fastest growing free zone JAFZA- the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai.

Leadership

Under the creative leadership of its founder and CEO Mr. Sunil Khanchandani, ALONSA has evolved into becoming a popular brand within a couple of years since its inception. Directly supervised by the founder himself, the entire range of products with unique designs are manufactured with the highest quality complying with the IEC (CB) standards, and launched to the markets after being tested for their excellent performance for the end-users.

Mr. Sunil Khanchandani graduated from the Ross School of Business in University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, USA with a concentration in marketing and finance. He worked with American Express in New York as an equities trader, before venturing into his own business with a team of five people in 2004 by conceptualizing and developing the brand name ALONSA.

Growth and Achievements

Today, hundreds of employees and experts from across the globe contribute to the growth of the brand, having its operations in Hong Kong, China and Dubai. ALONSA achieved great recognition by successfully creating new waves in lining up an innovativerange of lifestyle products in the Middle East’s dynamic and vigorously expanding markets; and being sold at speciality retail stores,international department stores and hypermarkets.

The manufacturing unit of ALONSA constantly implements global measures and inspection systems to ensure improved quality of the products.

Visibility

ALONSA is now among the top 5 visible OEM brands in the UAE’s retail distribution network. The brand survived solid challenges and tough competitions in the market, with its well-defined SKU planning, grass-root marketing tactics and selling skills, as of the 2010 market share visibility ratio in the OEM segment.

Production, Quality Control and Supply Chain

The operations of the ALONSA manufacturing units across the world has a well structured human resource system, with highly qualified and experienced multi ethnic engineers and professionals in its merchandising and quality control divisions.

ALONSA also carries out rigid QC investments on its entire products from time to time, in association with globally recognized testing institutes such as SGS and ITS. These examinations in different stages ensure that all necessary Quality Control measures have been perfectly implemented before the products are supplied to the chain of markets around the globe.

ALONSA maintains a database of over 150 suppliers including manufacturing and trading companies in the fields of consumer electronics and home appliances, whilst keeping updated factory audit records. The sourcing division of ALONSA is also diversified into conducting developments of complementing SKUs such as kitchenware and utensils range within a span of five years.

The management is currently preparing to obtain ISO-9001 accreditation, by effectively implementing the set of standards and criteria on the quality management system for the year 2011 to 2012 mission.

Over the years, the consumer goods import export division of Al Tara Group has showcased tremendous growth and consistent success across all its established projects. With operations spread across the seven Emirates in the UAE and in several other countries, the Al Tara consumer goods import export division showcases a portfolio of hundreds of products.

The consumer goods import export division encompasses various segments including food products, stationery, building materials, hardware products, automotive division- motor bikes & engine oil - all under the roof of Tara Impex FZE. The automotive division is primarily export-oriented trading to regions such as Africa, CIS, GCC & Eastern Europe.

'Food is a right as well as a luxury' is the Al Tara's philosophy on food trading. We add flavours to our customers’ different taste concepts, by manufacturing and marketing a range of food and beverage products throughout the MENA & Africa region.

Our flagship foodstuff brand is DONA VIDA of Italy with a variety of products including pasta, vegetable cooking oil, spaghetti and canned food. We implement tested and proven measures to guarantee quality, hygiene and health standards of the food items, whilst we are keen on ensuring complete customer satisfaction.

We follow international and local guidelines in implementing the highest food safety standards, grasping the requirements of the region’s foodstuff market deeply.

The range of food products, which compromises of over 50 varieties and packaging styles from Dona Vida, reaches to the customers’ shelves fresh, as we always strive to promote healthy lifestyles among our consumers. We are keen on the safety of health of the local customers as well as the broader customer base in our operating markets.

Real Estate

Al Tara Group’s real estate division has been providing numerous residential and commercial properties for over two decades to satisfied customers in the UAE and Poland. We are always committed to fulfil our promise in helping our clients fulfil their dreams.

The Group has successfully constructed, developed, leased and sold hundreds of structures in these countries during the past eighteen years, though leveraging its expanding network in different industries. As of 2010, Al Tara completed projects that spanned over a total of 14 million square feet.

Among the residential properties developed by Al Tara Group in Dubai are a number of super deluxe apartment blocks which are built with decorative granite floors, wall finishes, fully-furnished modern kitchens and bathrooms, basement parking slots, health clubs and other modern living amenities. These luxurious apartments have been developed in Dubai’s elite residential areas including Bur Dubai, Jumeirah, Emirates Hills and Jebel Ali Free Zone. Our other major projects include a four-star hotel apartment in the city.

Keeping in mind the constant demand for residential and commercial properties in the GCC countries, Al TARA Group initiated professional steps to transform the sector into an efficiently managed and investment backed business.

The Group achieved this progress by setting up global standards of property management models in catering to satisfied customers with long or short term leasing of flats, commercial premises and warehouses. The Group is also involved in managing apartment buildings, buying and selling of building plots and outright purchase of developed properties for leasing.

Outside the GCC, the Al Tara Group has proven record of being the pioneers in the real estate business in Poland. The Group developed several commercial facilities and state-of-the-art warehouses, and leased to major multinational conglomerates that operate in Warsaw, Poland.

The hospitality division of Al Tara Group owns its hotel operations in the fastest growing city on earth Dubai.

The luxurious Royal Ascot Hotel Apartments & Ascot Hotel Apartments is strategically located in Dubai’s busiest shopping and banking neighbourhood near Bur Juman Shopping Centre. These 2 luxurious hotels welcomes tourists and business executives from across the world in an ambience featuring elegant rooms, an opulent lobby, banquet hall, ballrooms and a business centre.

Royal Ascot Hotel Apartments & Ascot Hotel Apartments caters to hundreds of guests, offering them a wide selection of rooms and suites, ranging from deluxe rooms, executive rooms and executive suites that are furnished luxuriously. The offerings encompass a full spectrum of services at the residences which are equipped with the latest in-room technology, delicious dining options and personal amenities.

Tara Impex FZE, the general trading arm of Al TARA Group, compromises of the automotive division mainly into the business of Motorbikes, as well as production and supply of Super Hi Tech Lubes, a range of quality engine oil products.

Motorbikes

Motorbikes come in a wide variety of unique designs to handle everything from a light ride to an strenuous cross-country tour. The range of products- from 50 CC engine scooter to 180 CC motor bikes- are designed and manufactured for road, lifestyle, comfort, urban, women’s, children’s, youth, speciality, sports and mountain riding purposes.

The bikes are primarily aimed at the export markets across the MENA & Africa region. Large selections of Motorbikes, with the highest quality standards of engineering, are available at major specialty bike shops, independent dealers and general goods stores.

These high-scoring models combine performance, features and value, so customers can choose the product that best suits their requirement, budget and lifestyle.

Tara Impex FZE has been manufacturing and marketing Motorbikes for more than three years. The newly added division to the Al Tara Group’s core line of businesses will soon be developed as a full-fledged, independent business unit for exclusively promoting and marketing the range of quality bikes in the region.

Super Hi Tech Lubes

The brand Super Hi Tech Lube showcases premium quality engine oil & lubricant products which are manufactured in the UAE and traded by Tara Impex FZE under Al Tara Group.

Tara impex FZE invested and developed the super hi tech lubricant brand in 2010. The Company established a blending plant tie up a lubricating factory in the emirate of Sharjah UAE.

From this joint venture, Tara Impex started producing its own range of lubricants and engine oils and marketing throughout the region under the unique brand name Super Hi Tech Lubes.

These specially formulated, highly refined and multi-purpose oil products are of superior quality. Globally recognised laboratories have certified the engine oil and lubricant, after testing their performance in various types of motor vehicles.

Over the years, Al Tara Group has been associating with world-class manufacturers of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) through its in-house sourcing and merchandising offices in China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and Singapore.

The division is involved in general exports and trading activities across the FMCG portfolio of products for its clients as a value-added service, through its specialized business.

Alonsa OEM Services has been providing logistics " sourcing services for various types of private label products including:

The company also provides apparel export services.

The division carries out sourcing and customization of the products from global wholesale markets, mainly in China and Thailand. Alonsa OEM Services also arranges short-term financing for import and export businesses in the UAE for its third port operations.
